There are many sources that inspire my artwork.

As a young emigrant I left for Canada and there the great landscapes, especially in the North with its tundras, rocky outcrops, often frozen ground and the occasional tree where a thankful subject for my collages made with handpainted, high quality paper. Especially the occurence of rare and often single, man-made objects to be found there in that vastness of nature fascinated me.

I also had the opportunity there to create and exhibit several multi-media installations which included video, images and sound and to exhibit them indoors as well as outdoors.

After having lived there for more then 26 years I returned to The Netherlands and spent some time at the Free Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague to get acquainted with the Dutch art scene.

The Dream World of the Australian Aboriginals became a new source of inspiration and especially their stories about the creation of the earth from natural resources in a mythical age.

I also continue to make multi-media installations and in a recent project I enjoy making handpainted screens.
